Cycles of Change is a non profit organization based in East Oakland California that gives inner city youth the opportunity to learn how to build bicycles, and go on bike trips. Since early 1997 over 1200 children have earned their bicycle, putting it together themselves or with help from a small dedicated staff along with countless volunteers and older kids helping.
Cycles of Change also have taken over 1000 bike trips with groups of middle schoolers all over the Bay Area to places of great historical, environmental, or cultural interest. We have also been on a few bike tours of up to 5 days.
Cycles of Change survives from grants, along with monitary/bikes/parts/tools donations.
Cycles of Change works with other non profits including the East Bay Asian Youth Center and Tinkers Workshop.
We are always in need of tax deductable donations, volunteers, old bike parts, tools, camping gear, rain coats...
